Picasa Got a New Look

Google has woken up to the reality of more pleasing visual interfare. We saw it with the relaunch of Google Profiles; (see our earlier post Google Revamps User Profiles for details) and now we have a new looking Picasa. New features include easy photo upload, faster access to your favourite and most recent photos and the ability to view pictures from popular photographers in Picasa community right in your profile.

Google has been testing a new interface for Picasa Web Albums that gives a better layout and access to some of your most favourite and recent photos and photo albums. This not only includes the photos uploaded by you, but also the ones that have been shared with you by others.

Also, some of the most popular photos from the Picasa community would also be available for viewing within your profile. The idea behind all the new mish-mash is to enable users to get faster access to their newest and popular photos.

Some of the other improvements have been with regards to photo-uploading – where the 'five at a time' rule has been eliminated. Also, Picasa now enables you to upload your favourite videos as well. However, free space of 1GB may not be enough for videos and you might need to buy additional space.
